Responsibilities:
• Oversee and direct the work of mechanical technicians and mechanics in maintenance, repair, and installation activities.
• Develop and implement work plans and schedules for mechanical tasks, prioritizing critical equipment and ensuring adherence to deadlines.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures during all maintenance activities. Conduct safety briefings and enforce safe work practices.
• Conduct inspections of mechanical equipment, identifying potential problems and scheduling preventive maintenance as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, diagnose root causes, and coordinate repairs or replacements.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and spare parts inventory.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and other technical documents.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and engineering, to ensure effective equipment maintenance and plant uptime.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the mechanical department.
• May participate in project work, assisting with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a supervisory role within a petrochemical plant or a similar industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, compressors, and rotating equipment.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of mechanics and technicians.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong working knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for the petrochemical industry.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with specific petrochemical plant processes and equipment.
