**Job Title: Lifting Engineer**

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lifting Engineer to oversee and manage all lifting operations within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing lifting activities to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The Lifting Engineer will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to develop lifting plans, select appropriate equipment, and provide technical expertise throughout the lifting process.

**Responsibilities:**

1. Develop comprehensive lifting plans for various projects, considering factors such as load weight, dimensions, site conditions, and equipment requirements.
2. Conduct site surveys and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
3. Select and specify lifting equipment based on project requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
4. Provide technical guidance and support to site personnel during lifting operations, including rigging, hoisting, and positioning of loads.
5. Collaborate with project teams to ensure that lifting activities are integrated into overall project schedules and milestones.
6. Conduct inspections and maintenance checks on lifting equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
7. Investigate incidents and near misses related to lifting activities, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
8. Keep abreast of industry developments, best practices, and regulatory changes related to lifting operations, and incorporate them into company policies and procedures.
9. Train and mentor junior staff members on safe lifting practices, equipment operation, and regulatory compliance.

**Qualifications:**

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience working as a Lifting Engineer or in a similar role within the construction, oil and gas, or heavy industry sector.
3. In-depth knowledge of lifting equipment, techniques, and standards (e.g., ASME B30.5, OSHA 1910.184).
4. Strong understanding of rigging principles, load calculations, and structural dynamics.
5. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software for developing lifting plans and layouts.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
8. Valid professional certifications such as Certified Lifting Specialist (CLS) or Certified Rigging Engineer (CRE) preferred.
9. Willingness to travel to project sites and work in varying environmental conditions.
