Production Associate

Job Purpose:
The Production Associate plays a vital role in the daily operations of our roastery, contributing to the production process of high-quality coffee products. Working closely with the production team, the Production Associate ensures efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in all aspects of coffee roasting and packaging. This position is crucial in maintaining our commitment to delivering exceptional coffee experiences to our customers.

Responsibilities:

Packaging: Package roasted coffee beans according to specific guidelines, including weighing, sealing, labeling, and preparing products for distribution.

Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process to ensure that all products meet our quality standards. This includes monitoring roast levels, identifying defects, and maintaining consistency in flavor profiles.

Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on roasting and packaging equipment to ensure proper functioning and prevent downtime. Report any issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team promptly.

Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels by monitoring stock levels of green and roasted coffee beans, packaging materials, and other supplies. Notify the appropriate personnel when inventory levels are low.

Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area by following sanitation protocols and cleaning schedules. This includes cleaning equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas regularly to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.

Documentation: Complete production logs, batch records, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Record relevant data such as roast profiles, batch sizes, and production yields.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), following safety guidelines, and participating in safety training programs.

Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas and suggestions for process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity in the production area. Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and new developments in coffee production.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other members of the production team, as well as other departments such as quality assurance, maintenance, and shipping, to achieve common goals and objectives.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a production environment, preferably within the food or beverage industry.
Knowledge of coffee production processes and equipment is desirable but not required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Strong work ethic and reliability.
Willingness to adhere to strict safety and quality standards.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
