Job Responsibilities:
1. Generate detailed shop drawings, erection plans, and assembly drawings for steel fabrication projects based on architectural and engineering designs.
2. Interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to accurately develop steel fabrication drawings.
3. Collaborate with engineers, architects, project managers, and fabricators to understand project requirements and incorporate design changes as necessary.
4. Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations throughout the drafting process.
5. Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to create 2D and 3D models of steel components, assemblies, and structures.
6. Perform material take-offs and create bills of materials (BOMs) to support procurement and fabrication activities.
7. Review and revise drawings based on feedback from stakeholders and field observations to address design modifications and ensure accuracy.
8. Maintain organized documentation and filing systems for drawings, revisions, and project-related correspondence.
9. Assist in resolving technical issues and providing support to fabrication teams during the manufacturing and assembly processes.
10. Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and suppliers to facilitate project coordination and ensure successful project outcomes.
