Heavy Machinery Operator

Education - Either High School Diploma or Equivalent, or Technical training or certification in heavy machinery operation.
Should have prior experience (at least 2 - 5 years) handling heavy machinery like :

1.Excavators - Hitachi EX1200-7,
Komatsu PC2000-11 etc.
2.Bulldozers - Caterpillar D9T,
Komatsu D375A etc.
3.Loaders - Volvo L120H, Caterpillar 980 H, Komatsu WA470-8
4.Cranes - Liebherr LTM 11200- 9.1, Grove GMK6300L,
Tadano ATF 400G-6
5.Dump Trucks - Caterpillar 797F, Komatsu 930E-5, Liebherr T282C
6.Graders - Caterpillar 140M3, Komatsu GD675-6, John Deere 770G
7.Pavers - Caterpillar AP655F, Volvo P7820C ABG
8.Concrete Pumps - Putzmeister BSF 63Z.16H, Schwing SP 750-15, Sany SY 5383THB

Heavy machinery operators must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and work in all weather conditions.
Must have knowledge of safety procedures and protocols. He must pay attention to detail to ensure that the machinery is operating correctly and safely. Certifications in Health and Safety is and added advantage.
Must have good communication skills.
Should hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and other licenses depending on the machinery they operate.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1)Operate a range of heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and cranes, to perform tasks such as excavation, grading, trenching, and material handling.
2)Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure all systems, controls, and attachments are in proper working condition, and address any issues promptly.
3)Interpret project plans, blueprints, and technical specifications to understand job requirements and execute tasks accurately and efficiently.
4)Manoeuvre heavy machinery skilfully in various work environments, including confined spaces, uneven terrain, and around obstacles, while prioritizing safety and minimizing damage to property or utilities.
5)Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other team members to prioritize tasks, maintain workflow efficiency, and meet project deadlines.
6)Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and regulatory requirements to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
7)Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal operation and efficiency.
8)Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy machinery, including greasing, oiling, and cleaning, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
9)Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs as needed, escalating complex issues to the maintenance team for resolution.
10)Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance for reporting and documentation purposes.
