Job Description

Education - Either High School Diploma or Equivalent, or Technical training or certification in heavy equipment operation operation.
Should have prior experience (at least 2 - 5 years) handling loaders like :

1.Caterpillar 988 K
2.Volvo L350F
3.Komatsu WA600
4.John Deere 844K
5.Bobcat S850

Loader operators must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and work in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints and schematics. They must also be able to perform routine maintenance on equipment's.
Must have knowledge of safety procedures and protocols. He must pay attention to detail to ensure that the equipment is operating correctly and safely. Certifications in Health and Safety is an added advantage.
Must have good communication skills.
Should hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and other licenses depending on the machinery they operate.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Operate a loader proficiently to load and unload materials such as aggregates, soil, asphalt, and construction debris onto trucks, conveyors, or other equipment as required.
Conduct pre-operational checks on the loader to verify that all systems, controls, and attachments are in proper working condition, and address any issues promptly.
Interpret loading and unloading instructions, project plans, and material specifications to determine the appropriate loading techniques and sequences.
Maneuver the loader skillfully in tight spaces and around obstacles, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials while minimizing the risk of damage to property or equipment.
Coordinate with truck drivers, equipment operators, and other team members to prioritize loading and unloading tasks, maintain workflow efficiency, and meet project deadlines.
Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment or property.
Monitor material quantities and ensure accurate loading and distribution to prevent overloading or underloading of trucks and containers.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the loader, including greasing, oiling, and cleaning, to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs as needed, escalating complex issues to the maintenance team for resolution.
Maintain detailed records of loading and unloading activities, material quantities, and equipment maintenance for reporting and documentation purposes.
