Requirements :
Education - High school diploma or equivalent. Should have vocational training and knowledge in mechanical technology, mechanical systems or related fields.
Experience of atleast 2 - 5 years in related field.
He should be proficient in using hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment to assemble, install, troubleshoot and repair mechanical components and systems.
(Example : Allen Keys, Files, clamps, drills, impact wrenches, grinders, sanders, saws, impact drivers, calipers, pressure gauges, pipe cutters and threaders, welding equipments etc.)
Familiarity with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software is an added advantage.
Problem solving skills.
Mechanical technicians must be aware of safety protocols, guidelines and regulations.
Must have good communication skills.
Should possess physical stamina as the job involves standing, bending, lifting and working in various physical conditions.
Must possess necessary certifications in welding, HVAC systems, machinery operations etc.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Perform routine maintenance tasks on mechanical systems and equipment, including lubrication, inspection, and adjustments, to ensure they are operating efficiently and in compliance with manufacturer specifications.
Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and your knowledge of mechanical principles, and develop effective repair solutions.
Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components, parts, and systems in mechanical equipment, such as engines, pumps, compressors, and conveyors, to restore functionality and performance.
Calibrate and test mechanical components and systems to ensure they meet quality standards and performance requirements.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks to identify potential issues and address them proactively, reducing the risk of breakdowns and unplanned downtime.
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to troubleshoot mechanical problems, prioritize repairs, and minimize disruptions to operations.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts inventory, and equipment history for documentation and reporting purposes.
Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment or property.
Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in mechanical maintenance and repair through ongoing training and professional development.
