Requirements :
Education - Must have either a High school diploma or equivalent or should have formal training certificates.
At least 2 - 5 years of experience. Must have either in residential plumbing, commercial plumbing, industrial plumbing, remodeling and renovation, green plumbing, etc.
Must know about various piping materials (PVC, PEX, copper, steel, etc.) and should know how to use tools like pipe wrenches, pliers, pipe cutters, soldering torches, and power tools.
Must possess necessary licenses or certifications in specialized areas such as gas fitting, pipe welding, etc.
He must be able to read blueprints and follow building codes and regulations.
Should have the physical stamina to lift heavy objects, work in tight spaces, and stand for long periods.
Should have good communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures, including pipes, fittings, valves, faucets, toilets, sinks, showers, and water heaters, under building codes and industry standards.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout, placement, and installation of plumbing systems and fixtures.
Measure, cut, thread, bend, and assemble pipes using hand tools, power tools, and equipment, ensuring proper alignment, connections, and seals.
Inspect plumbing systems, fixtures, and components for leaks, blockages, corrosion, and other issues, and develop effective repair solutions.
Troubleshoot and repair plumbing problems, including leaks, clogs, low water pressure, and drainage issues, using diagnostic tools and techniques.
Install and repair water supply lines, drainage systems, sewer lines, and gas lines, ensuring proper installation and compliance with safety regulations.
Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and other tradespeople to coordinate work activities, resolve conflicts, and ensure project requirements are met.
Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to property or equipment.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked for documentation and reporting purposes.
Provide guidance and assistance to apprentices and junior plumbers as needed, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
