Aluminum Systems Designer And Estimation

JOB DESCRIPTION
 Review of tender documents and estimation
 Review project tender documents and understand the project requirements and specifications.
 Interpret architectural and structural drawings quickly and accurately.
 Guide and supervise the estimation team in preparing detailed and proper BOQ with priced items.
 Make an accurate take-off to determine all materials required and pricing.
 Maintaining consistent, accurate and timely delivery of quotes to existing and new customers.
 Maintain records of quotes in an orderly manner.
 Receive and prioritize customer's project drawings and requests for quotes.
 Train and supervise junior estimators within the department in building an efficient estimation
team.
 Handle technical submittals, design and drawings for the project
 Prepare technical submittals consisting of technical details of systems used, data sheets, colour
charts and shop drawings for client approval in coordination with engineering estimations
manager.
 Explain the suitable aluminum system design, hardware and accessories to be used on new
projects to junior designers and draftsman before the commencement of shop drawing
preparation.
 Schedule, distribute, prioritize and supervise preparation of shop drawing and proposals with
detailers/draftsman.
 Review shop drawings prepared by draftsman as per standard and project specification.
 Coordinate with sales and operations team supporting them with technical requirements of
prospectful and ongoing projects.
 Handle cutting list order to be given to production department.
 Guide junior designers/draftsman in using the logical Orga data in preparing cutting list and
material/cost estimation.
 Supervise and Control Aluminum estimation for quotation/quantity estimation
 Price and budget estimation for project in inquiry
 Manhour, Overhead analysis and estimation for project inquiry
 Product analysis and preliminary design for inquiry proposal
 Preparation of market price of aluminum profile, hardware and consumables for estimation
reference.
 Budget analysis and forecasting to set target for sales.
 Project Procurement and control
 Prepare project material procurement list
 Coordinate purchase and finance department for material procurement
 Preparation of structural calculation and reports
 Structural calculation and analysis on stability, suitability, economy of used aluminum, steel, glass,
fastener items
 Prepare structural calculation report for technical submission in coordination with recommended
design resources.
 Multitasking and Reporting
 Lead the design and engineering team of the aluminum division with a multi-tasking approach.
 Report to engineering department head of the company on all activities related to engineering
department of Aluminum division.
