Position Overview:
We are looking for a diligent Safety Officer to oversee and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health and safety, with the ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them. The Safety Officer will work closely with management and employees to promote a safe and healthy work environment and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and international standards.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work areas to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Provide safety training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors, covering topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety activities, including incident reports, inspection findings, and training records.
Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to address safety concerns and implement effective risk control measures.
Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in occupational health and safety, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
Participate in emergency response planning and drills, and assist with coordinating emergency procedures as needed.
Serve as a resource for employees on safety-related matters, providing guidance and assistance as required.
Perform any other duties as assigned by management to support the overall safety objectives of the organization.
