We are looking for a Joinery cutting lister for a reputed company in Bahrain.
The joinery cutting lister will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Issuing cutting lists and other relevant information to the workshop and communicating effectively with the site installation teams when applicable
- Coordinating with the line manager to carry out or obtain site surveys, or agreeing on alternative options for issuing the job if site surveys are not possible, such as oversizing and following an agreed setting out plan (usually the case on fast track projects)
- Raising job-related material requisitions and following up effectively for timely delivery with the procurement department
- Planning schedules and forecasts for cutting lists issuance to manufacturing
- Having good knowledge of materials, technical properties and parameters, density, mechanical properties, homogeneity, available sizes, thicknesses, seasonal lead times, and other constraints
- Preparing detailed and high-quality shop drawings, taking into consideration acceptable joinery practice and technique, consideration for wastage, and coordinating with the factory on efficient detailing when required
- Reviewing specifications of the project and obtaining clearance for discrepancies between specs and estimated details
- Identifying project material requirements and sample requirement
- Identifying and raising queries to the line manager to communicate with the project manager for clarification in a timely manner
- Preparing material optimization list for cutting list to avoid wastage
The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in carpentry or related field
- At least 3 years of experience in joinery cutting list preparation and shop drawing production
- Proficiency in using CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or SolidWorks
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of joinery standards and best practices
