Ethical Hacker / IT Security Specialist (Home Network Security Project)

Job Overview:
We seek a skilled Ethical Hacker and IT Security Professional to provide end-to-end security for a personal home network. The role involves securing the home Wi-Fi network, configuring robust firewalls, and protecting all connected devices, including laptops, smartphones, and smart devices, from external threats and intrusions. This is a sensitive, personal project requiring confidentiality and a proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities:

Wi-Fi Network Security:
Conduct a full vulnerability assessment of the home Wi-Fi network and router configurations.
Implement advanced encryption protocols (e.g., WPA3) and create secure passwords for network access.
Disable unnecessary settings and secure router access, including disabling WPS, remote management, and setting up a separate guest network if required.

Device Security & Protection:
Secure laptops, mobile devices, and smart home devices connected to the network by installing necessary firewalls, antivirus programs, and anti-malware solutions.
Enable device encryption and data protection measures on each device to guard against unauthorized access or data theft.
Set up multi-factor authentication for network access and assist with securing sensitive information stored on these devices.

Firewall Configuration:
Configure router and device-level firewalls to prevent unauthorized intrusions and filter incoming/outgoing traffic effectively.
Provide guidance and setup of additional network security hardware, such as network security devices or advanced routers if necessary.

Ongoing Monitoring and Support:
Set up monitoring tools to track unusual or suspicious activity on the network and alert the user in case of potential intrusions.
Provide monthly check-ins or on-demand support to address new security threats, software updates, and any additional security needs as they arise.

Requirements:
Proven experience as an Ethical Hacker, Penetration Tester, or IT Security Specialist with a focus on home or small network security.
Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi security protocols, encryption standards, and router security configuration.
Experience with firewalls (software and hardware), endpoint protection software, and vulnerability assessment tools.
Demonstrable skills in securing devices (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android) connected to a network, including experience with antivirus and anti-malware software.
Ability to communicate security concepts clearly and provide remote assistance effectively.
Discretion, reliability, and adherence to confidentiality for personal projects.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications: CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with network monitoring tools, VPNs, cybersecurity hardware, and privacy protection tools.
