The Senior Design Engineer (E&I) will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of electrical and instrumentation systems for various industrial projects. The role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The engineer will ensure that all designs meet industry standards, client requirements, and safety regulations while maintaining project timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development:
Lead the design of electrical and instrumentation systems, including wiring diagrams, circuit layouts, and control systems.
Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and design calculations in compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Ensure integration of electrical and instrumentation systems with other engineering disciplines, such as mechanical and civil.
Project Management:
Oversee project lifecycle, from conceptual design through to detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
Manage design schedules and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
Coordinate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure design requirements are clearly defined and met.
Technical Support & Problem Solving:
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design teams.
Identify and resolve design issues or discrepancies during project execution.
Conduct technical reviews and ensure the quality of all design deliverables.
Compliance & Standards:
Ensure designs adhere to relevant electrical codes, standards (e.g., IEC, NEC), and client-specific requirements.
Implement safety regulations and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare detailed documentation for design specifications, test procedures, and commissioning protocols.
Maintain accurate records of design changes and approvals throughout the project lifecycle.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination:
Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure the selection of appropriate materials and equipment.
Review and approve vendor drawings and documentation related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation design within industrial sectors such as oil & gas, energy, manufacturing, or construction.
Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP) and industry-standard tools.
Strong understanding of electrical codes, instrumentation standards, and control systems.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and design teams.
