Job Description

Primary Responsibilities and Tasks:
Food Preparation Support:

Assist with the washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing of ingredients such as vegetables, fruits, and other raw materials.
Prepare simple food items such as salads, sauces, and dressings, as directed by the head chef or cook.
Measure and portion ingredients based on recipe requirements or as directed.
Cleaning and Maintenance:

Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, utensils, and other tools regularly to meet hygiene standards.
Ensure all food storage areas (e.g., refrigerators, freezers) are kept clean and organized.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment either by hand or using a dishwasher.
Inventory and Stocking:

Assist in receiving, checking, and storing food deliveries.
Restock kitchen supplies and ingredients as necessary.
Monitor inventory levels of basic ingredients and report shortages to the supervisor.
Waste Management:

Properly dispose of food waste and kitchen garbage, ensuring the kitchen area remains clean and free of hazards.
Help manage recycling materials, ensuring proper disposal of plastics, cans, etc.
Assisting with Kitchen Safety:

Follow safety protocols for handling kitchen equipment, such as knives and hot surfaces.
Report any faulty equipment or potential hazards to the kitchen supervisor.
Assist in implementing safety procedures in the event of kitchen emergencies (e.g., small fires, spills).
Customer Service Support (if needed):

Assist in packaging and preparing food orders for delivery or takeout, following restaurant standards.
Occasionally help with front-of-house tasks such as filling drinks or setting up food trays.
General Assistance:

Help maintain smooth kitchen operations during peak service times by supporting other kitchen staff members.
Perform other duties as required by the head chef or kitchen supervisor.
Qualifications:
Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long hours.
Previous experience in a kitchen or QSR environment is an advantage but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 kg.
Ability to work in a standing position for long periods.
Willingness to work in a hot, fast-moving kitchen environment.
