Job Description

Job Title: Building Security / Cleaner

Location: Hidd, Bahrain
Department: Facilities / Security
Reports to: Facilities Manager / Security Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Building Security / Cleaner is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and cleanliness of the premises. This dual-role position involves monitoring and securing the facility, preventing unauthorized access, and maintaining a clean and hygienic environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate vigilance, a keen eye for detail, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:

Security Duties:

Monitor Premises: Regularly patrol the building and its surroundings to detect any signs of unusual activity, disturbances, or potential hazards.
Control Access: Manage entry and exit points, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors are allowed inside.
Surveillance Monitoring: Operate and monitor surveillance equipment (CCTV) to identify security risks or breaches.
Respond to Alarms: Quickly respond to alarms or incidents, assessing the situation and taking appropriate action as needed.
Report Incidents: Document and report any security breaches, suspicious activity, or damage to the facilities to the relevant authorities or supervisor.
Provide Assistance: Offer assistance to employees, or visitors in case of emergencies, such as medical situations or evacuations.
Follow Protocols: Ensure compliance with all security policies, protocols, and emergency procedures.

Cleaning Duties:

Maintain Cleanliness: Clean and maintain the facility’s common areas, restrooms, hallways, and entryways, ensuring they are tidy and presentable.
Trash Removal: Collect and dispose of trash, recyclables, and other waste materials regularly.
Sanitize High-Touch Surfaces: Regularly disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, switches, countertops, and equipment to ensure a sanitary environment.
Restock Supplies: Restock cleaning supplies and facility consumables (e.g., paper towels, soap) in bathrooms, kitchens, and other areas as needed.
Floor Care: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; perform periodic deep cleaning as required.
Monitor Supplies: Keep track of cleaning supplies and notify management when stocks are low.
Report Maintenance Issues: Identify and report any maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, broken fixtures) to the facilities management team.

Key Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Previous experience in security, cleaning, or maintenance roles is preferred.
Basic knowledge of security protocols and cleaning practices.
Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
Good physical stamina, with the ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
Basic computer skills for surveillance equipment monitoring or reporting purposes.
Strong communication skills for interacting with tenants, visitors, and staff.
Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
Trustworthy and dependable with a strong sense of responsibility.

Working Conditions:

Shifts may include nights, weekends, or holidays depending on facility requirements.
The role may require standing or walking for extended periods.
